Spring Fling & Grand Opening

Dear Janet -

We’re excited to share some big news!

Formerly Colonial Gardens, we are now Powell Gardens Colonial Farms, a new second site of Powell Gardens—Kansas City’s botanical garden.

This exciting new chapter allows us to expand education, agriculture, gardening resources, and farm experiences for our community while preserving the traditions that have made this place so special.

To celebrate this new beginning, we’re inviting you to join us for our Grand Opening & Spring Fling, a full day of gardening inspiration, family activities, workshops, shopping, and an evening celebration to toast the start of the growing season.

    A New Chapter 🌿

Colonial Gardens has long been a favorite Kansas City destination for plant shopping, apple picking, seasonal festivals, school field trips, and family memories.

As Powell Gardens Colonial Farms, this site will become a hub for hands-on agricultural education and community experiences through Powell Gardens’ Midwest Center for Regenerative Agriculture.

While the name has evolved, the heart of the farm remains the same:

    🌱 Your favorite garden center
🚜 A place to connect with agriculture
🌸 A destination to gather, learn, and grow together

Beloved experiences like u-pick berries, flower cutting, the garden center, festivals, school field trips, and Whistle Stop Coffee will continue to be part of the farm—now with even more opportunities to learn, explore, and grow.
